WORD OF THE DAY:

Explore: (verb) travel in or through (an unfamiliar country or area) in order to learn about or familiarize oneself with it.

Every day is a new opportunity to explore the world around you.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

-AERIN LAUDER
HEALTHY SNACK:

How about a cup of pineapples? Did you know that pineapples are native fruits of South America? They are so many fun facts about pineapples that you will enjoy. Let us know what else you found interesting about this great fruit.

CAREER OF THE DAY:

One of the most exciting careers that allow you to travel and see the world is a Flight Attendant.   Flight attendants are also known as cabin crew, stewards, air hosts/hostesses, or stewardesses, and are members of a cabin crew employed by airlines.  They make sure that the passengers on commercial flights (or, sometimes, business jets) are safe and comfortable during the flight. Most flight attendants start out in the United States initially, before being allowed to operate longer flights that hit travel destinations such as Japan, Canada, and Southeast Asia. You’ll travel on stunning aircrafts to different countries all while earning a nice income and good benefits.

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

Ms. Eliana and Ms. Oshima at the Dr. Ledyard E. Ross Unit are making bubble art in their area; let’s join them!! You can use as many colors as you like but each color needs to have its own cup or bowl. Here is how you make it:

  1. Make a solution of equal parts water and dish detergent
  2. Add a few drops of food color into each cup/bowl
  3. Take a straw and blow bubbles into the mixture (like it is a carton of milk) until the bubbles reach the top of the cup/bowl (you can let them overflow a bit but it will get messy so put down a towel or plastic table cloth)
  4. Take a piece of plain white paper and press it on top of the color bubbles. Do this with each color until the entire paper has color bubbles on it.
  5. Keep blowing bubbles until your art is complete.
