WORD OF THE DAY:

Reef:  (noun) a ridge of rocks or sand, often of coral debris, at or near the surface of the water.  

The world largest reef is located in Australia.

Snack Time!

Octopus Ocean Pudding Cups 

Ingredients- 

  • 5.1 oz box of instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups of milk 
  • Blue food coloring 
  • Graham cracker crumbs 
  • Trolli gummy octopus

Directions- 

  1. In a large bowl, mix together your vanilla pudding, milk, and blue food coloring then whisk.  
  2. Set pudding in the fridge for about 5 minutes until it is soft set. 
  3. Fill the bottom of your cups ¼ way with your blue pudding. 
  4. Now fill another ¼ with graham cracker crumbs. 
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to do two more layers. 
  6. Now scoop a small amount of blue pudding on top of the graham cracker crumbs to look like sand and water. 
  7. Top off with a gummy octopus and enjoy! 
CAREER OF THE DAY:

MARINE BIOLOGIST:  Marine biologist spend hours on coral reefs, sampling the ocean water and sand collecting specimen to learn about water life in the ocean. They study pollutants to help understand how it hurts the sea life.

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Hose
  • At least 2 players

HOW TO PLAY: 

  • Have one player hold the hose to create a “bar” of water about shoulder high.
  • Each player tries to bend backwards and dance under the water bar without getting wet.
  • The player holding the hose lowers the water bar each time that someone successfully passes underneath without getting wet.
  • Keep dancing under the water as it moves lower and lower!
