ELEMENTARY ENGAGEMENT GUIDE

THURSDAY, JULY 30, 2020

WORD OF THE DAY:

Practice: (verb) to perform an activity or exercise repeatedly or regularly in order to improve or maintain one’s proficiency.

Daily practice is essential to growth and skill building.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Set your goals high and don’t stop until you get there.”

-DWAYNE JOHNSON
HEALTHY SNACK:

Mango Hedgehogs

Here’s how to cut a mango into a “Hedgehog”:

Grab a mango and ask an adult to help you slice the fruit from the pit.

After an adult has cut the mango on both sides of the pit, you’ll have two wedges.

Use a plastic knife to score the wedges into squares.

Don’t press through the peel with the knife, just into the flesh.

Then turn the wedges out with your thumbs!

CAREER OF THE DAY:

Sports Scouts look for and recruit new members of a sports team at the college, amateur, or professional level. They evaluate athletes’ physical skills, attitude, and other factors that could determine their success on a team.
