WORD OF THE DAY:

Rainforest:   A tropical forest, usually of tall, densely growing, broad-leaved evergreen trees in an area of high annual rainfall.  

 The tangle of trees, plants, and vines marks the rainforest of Cameroon. 

Here’s a little more about the rainforest. Let’s take a brief filed trip!

HEALTHY SNACK:

Snack Time!

Snake on a Stick  

Ingredients 

  • 8woodenskewers  
  • 2cupgrapes  
  • 2cupstrawberries 
  • 1/4cupraisins, seedless  
  • 2cupyogurt, plain, low-fat 

Instructions 

  • To each skewer, add 3-5 grapes (depending on how long the skewer is). 
  • Remove greens from strawberries and slice in half from the top down. Carefully place a strawberry onto each skewer for the snakes head.  
  • Cut the raisins into small pieces for the eyes; set aside. Using a toothpick, place a small dollop of yogurt onto the strawberry for the eyes, and top with a raisin piece.  
  • Serve with the remaining yogurt (and extra fruit!) for dipping.
