WORD OF THE DAY:

Grassland:  (noun) Land with grass growing on it, especially farmland used for grazing or pasture. 

They raise cattle on the grassland, and sow the other half in wheat and forage for the herd.

HEALTHY SNACK:

Happy Lion Pancakes!

Ingredients/supplies: 

  1. Plate 
  2. Ziploc bag 
  3. Scissors  
  4. Pancake mix 
  5. Mandarin oranges
  6. Strawberries 
  7. Blueberries 
  8. Chocolate syrup 

Directions: 

  1. Center apancake on a plate.  
  2. Decorate withmandarin orange slices, half astrawberry, and blueberries, trim the ends so that they’d sit flat.  
  3.  Pour a few teaspoons ofchocolate syrupinto a Ziploc bag and snip off a corner.  
  4. Pipe on a mouth and whiskers.  
  5. Enjoy!

Outdoor Recreation Guide:Outdoor guides lead groups on recreational outing activities. They often specialize in their own areas of interest, organizing hunting and fishing expeditions, or photographic and nature-study trips.  

Career Example: Park guide, treetop adventure nets guide, zipline guide, wildlife refuge specialist, railbike guide  

Salary Average: $27,000 per year to $55,000 per year  

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:

You may not live in a real grassland with swift foxes, black-footed ferrets, or prairie dogs but the grass around you still has some interesting creatures. Some of which may be lady bugs, worms or grasshoppers. For this challenge all you will need is the sun and a camera. Try to find as many creatures as can that may be lingering around in your yard. Don’t forget to share your photos and tag us using #ClubAtHome .
