CAREER OF THE DAY:

Veterinarian

We all know that when we get sick or injured we go to see a doctor, but what about animals? Where do they go when they are hurt or sick? No worries, animals have their own doctors as well called veterinarians! A veterinarian is a medical professional who specializes in the health and well-being of animals. They also provide resources and information to pet owners to help them better care for their animals. Check out this cool video of Veterinarian Betsy describing what it looks like to be a veterinarian! (https://www.careerexplorer.com/careers/veterinarian/)

Average Salary: $95,000

Education/Experience: 77% of Veterinarians hold a doctorate degree and also work in the research world of animal health. However, most veterinarian jobs only require a master’s degree.

For today’s Daily Challenge, we’re bobbing for apples!!! I was able to get 1 in under a minute. Now let’s see how many you can get! Be sure to be accompanied by a parent while taking part in this activity.

PARENT RESOURCES:

“Sevierville has always been a popular field trip destination. But this year, many of our popular attractions stepped up to also offer great educational experiences to students online. Whether through simple YouTube videos, Facebook lives, or educational components on their websites, these Sevierville area attractions keep learning fun.”

“During the Spring and Summer, a tree uses its leaves to transform sunlight into energy to help it grow. This process of photosynthesis is helped along by molecules of chlorophyll, which makes leaves green. But as temperatures dip in the fall, chlorophyll breaks down and other pigments, which have been hiding behind the green, are revealed—bright reds, oranges, and yellows. With rubbing alcohol and a coffee filter, you can coax these vibrant molecules out of the leaf and onto paper for your viewing pleasure; the process is called chromatography. Ready to try it?”
