WORD OF THE DAY:

Today’s word of the day is Ribs and a few interesting facts about them are explained in the acrostic poem below.  

Removal of a rib can be dangerous but necessary in some instances like to stop the spread of cancer 

Identify ribs by their numbers such as 1-7 are the True ribs and 8-12 are the floating or false ribs 

Back or spine is made up of 12 pairs of slender curved bones called ribs 

Surrounding and protecting the lungs and heart are the ribs

HEALTHY SNACK:

After a long week let’s refuel our bodies with this refreshing hydration drink. 

Apple Hydration Drink 

 

 Ingredients 

  1. 3 cup coconut water 
  2. 1 cup apple juice 
  3. 1 cup ice
  4. 1/8 teaspoon sea salt 
  5. 1 tablespoon honey 

Optional 

  1. Juice of 1 medium lime 
  2. Juice of 1medium orange 

Instructions 

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender, and blend for 1 minute or stir with wooden spoon for 3minutes (get help from an adult if using a blender) 
  2. Pour into containers and enjoy immediately or store in the fridge for later. Will stay good in the fridge for 1 week. 
  3. Optional:  add a squeeze of lime and orange juice!
