DAILY CHALLENGE:

Friday Art Challenge with Mr. Alex

Title: Tape Painting

Here is another simple style of painting! In this challenge, you are using tape to create clean lines and shapes in your art. Be sure you have the right materials for this or else you may have issues with peeling the paint. A canvas, piece of cardboard, or sheet of paper work great to paint on! Make sure you use a type of tape that will not peel the paint when removing the tape. Mr. Alex used Scotch tape, but he recommends Artist’s Scotch tape. Now, start painting! This painting was done in three layers. For the first layer, the entire canvas was painted light blue. Then, tape was placed on the canvas in the desired design and a layer of purple was painted on top of the blue. Once it dried, the tape was removed and new tape was placed to create the small triangles for accents. Finally, bright green was painted inside the new tape. Once it dried, the tape was removed and the painting was complete! This painting was simple to do and came out great (with the right materials). Good luck, be creative, and have FUN!!
