ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

October 6, 1889: Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, premiers to the world the first ever motion picture. Today, motion pictures are what we call Movies! What is your favorite movie to watch?

IT'S A CELEBRATION:

On today we celebrate those individuals who help shape us on the field, courttrack, ring, course or pool, our coaches.  Take the time today to reach out to your coaches or a coach in your community and say thank you!

BRAIN TEASER:

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT:

This week’s Program Highlight is MONEY MATTERS. In a time where job security and health are both unpredictable, it’s important to be financially literate. The objective this week is to teach you quick tips and “need-to-knows” so you can educate your family and prepare yourself for the future.

For today’s activity I want you to find someone who

  1. Has broken their device
  2. Got the flu and had to see the doctor
  3. Got an injury and had to go to the hospital
  4. Can tell you what type of insurance would cover fires at your house
  5. Bought insurance in Reality Store
  6. Can tell you what type of insurance covers traffic accidents
  7. Has had damage to their house due to the weather
  8. Knows who to contact if a limb falls on the family car
  9. Went to the doctor for a regular checkup

I was able to find 6, how many can you get? Be sure to share your findings on social media using #CLUB@HOME

DAILY CHALLENGE:

STEM Tuesday!

Welcome to the first session of STEM Tuesday!

At the Dr. Ledyard E. Ross Unit, our member Nehemiah took the initiative and started his own Kahoot! Activity. With their Chromebooks, they competed in a math competition to see who could get the most correct. Do you think you would have won?
