One teen member will be named the local Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain and receive a $3,000 scholarship. The newly named Youth of the Year will next compete against other Boys & Girls Clubs members across North Carolina for the state title and an additional $1,000 college scholarship. State winners move on to compete for the distinction as one of five regional winners across the country and ultimately those five winners will contend for the title of National Youth of the Year.
The BE GREAT Series is a compilation of breakfast and lunch events that raise awareness and funds for Clubs in Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Greene, Lenoir, Martin and Pitt counties.
